'Genuine' Aaron is head's choice for coveted award

HONOUR: Aaron Goldman receives the Entebbe Prize from Joy Wolfe

CONSIDERATE Aaron Goldman has received this year's King David Junior School Entebbe Prize.

The Year 6 pupil was given the award for his effort, determination and politeness during the academic year.

The son of Wayne and Sue Goldman of Prestwich, Aaron had no idea he had won the award until headteacher Peter Parker announced it in assembly.

He said: "When Mr Parker started to describe the person who had won it, I knew it was me.

"My heart started pounding and everyone turned round to look at me.

"I got a big, heavy medal and my parents are very proud of me."

Mr Parker said: "I could only choose one child to win the award so I had to think very carefully.

"Aaron is a genuinely pleasant, thoughtful and reliable boy.

"He is a very talented footballer but never shows off and has been house captain but never abused his position."

Zionist stalwart Joy Wolfe presented the Manchester Reform Congregation member with the prize.
